things to do

We would like to share this beautiful scenery with you, it’s so easy to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this very special area. You will soon forget that we are only a few miles from the M4 motorway. An area for all seasons’ best describes this beautiful village with its enchanting variety of landscapes throughout the year. You will find everything from woodlands with tiny wild flowers to rushing rivers and lots of wild birds. The Barnes family who stayed with us spotted the tree formation of a dragon on the mountain opposite which can be seen from our balcony, family room and bedroom 3.

cycling

Come and ride the cycle tracks and off road biking to suit all levels of ability. Why not book a guided tour with Blackmill Cycle club to try one of the 25 cycle routes surrounding the area of Blackmill covering miles and miles of cycle track and off road biking. There is a local hire company who will deliver directly to Heron’s Brook B & B. Here are Charlotte’s comments:-
"We thought the service of the bike hire was fantastic. It was ideal because the bikes were at the B&B and we didn’t have to worry about collecting them or taking them back. We thought that the bikes were brilliant, ideal for mountain biking! The size of the bikes were also great too and Good value for money."

walking & rambling

If cycling is not for you then why not trying a gentle walk or rambling through this beautiful countryside with spectacular views of coastline from the mountain in Blackmill village or Mynydd-yr-gaer from the front of our B & B which gives you breathtaking views of the Summerset coast line.
